In 2010, director Min Lianqiu from the Teaching and Research Office of Neurology in the first clinical medical college of Jinzhou Medical University opened clinical medicine communication, which was the first time in medical universities in three northeastern provinces. With the strong support of the leader in charge and the educational administration department, in order to improve the students' communication ability as soon as possible and create a harmonious doctor-patient relationship, Professor Liu Xuewen, the deputy director of the Teaching and Research Office of Neurology, Professor Liu Chang, the course director, and lecturer Xue Kun also actively participated in the teaching reform.
In October 2017, the team of Neurology Teaching and Research Office in charge of communication teaching between doctors and patients tried to apply SP to communication teaching and achieved good results. In March 2018, lecturer Xue Kun went to Fudan University to observe and study SP teaching course and eight year PBL teaching course of clinical medicine. At the same time, combined with the actual situation of her college, she applied the discussion teaching method of SP to the training of medical students' communication ability and evaluation.
They are very focused on team building and internal training. After attending many SP training courses taught by experts at home and abroad, these trainers are arranged to train internal sp practitioners.
They also invited Chen Qiuyuan, who had studied in Bath University and accepted the SP teaching of doctor-patient communication in the UK, to systematically introduce the teaching methods in the UK.
The college currently has 22 SPS. They set strict recruitment standards. After training and assessment, these SPS began to participate in the teaching work. The college also conducts annual training and assessment for them, and starts work after annual appointment.
Some of the teachers in this college also served as experts of CSPC，CIAPST. Their paper was published in the Journal of Chinese Higher Medical Education.
The teaching objects of this college are gradually expanding to multi-level applied talents such as junior college students, nursing students, graduate students, regular students and even international students. They are also actively engaged in international academic exchanges.
